Richard Blake
FOUNDER
With over 26 years of lending and brokering experience, you’re in safe hands. Richard Blake has been at the forefront of New Zealand’s personal lending industry since the late 1990s, helping thousands of Kiwis find the right finance.
Richard was one of the very first personal loan brokers in New Zealand to offer online finance back in 1999 with NZ Loan Limited, which was later sold to Merchant Capital. He went on to found and grow several innovative lending businesses including The Lending Room and Cantait.com, always focused on making borrowing faster, fairer, and easier for everyday people.
In 2012, Richard co-founded The Lending People, where he was the majority shareholder and a driving force behind its growth into one of the country’s most recognised online loan brokers. The company was successfully sold to Motor Trade Finance (MTF) in 2023.
Now as the founder of Lenny, Richard is supported by an impeccable team of hardworking advisers and a trusted panel of lenders; all ready to assist with your loan application. His mission has always been the same: to give borrowers more choice, better service, and a transparent, stress-free loan process.
